We're Jon and Jessica.

We’re full-time working parents of three, and we know how hard it is to keep everything at home running smoothly when life feels nonstop. Before having kids, juggling work and life felt challenging sometimes, but manageable. Once we became parents—especially after adding twin girls to the mix—it started to feel like we were always behind.
We weren’t struggling with work—we were struggling with everything else. The laundry that never ended. The meal planning. The bedtime routines. The mental checklist that started the moment we woke up and never seemed to shut off.
We needed a better way to manage our time at home—something that helped us stay on top of the everyday responsibilities without constantly rushing or feeling like we were dropping the ball. So we started creating systems that could actually hold up to the chaos of family life.
Over time, we made small, meaningful changes—adjusting our routines, how we planned our week, and how we shared the load as a couple. Eventually, we found a rhythm. A version of daily life that felt calmer, more intentional, and actually sustainable.
That’s what led us to start GenRef. We want to share the tools and routines that helped us feel more in control—not by doing more, but by focusing on what matters and building systems that support the life we want at home.
